The new Ford Fiesta has received lots of good reviews in the press and on the web. Most visitors to Fiesta Force are fans of the new small Ford or consumers looking for more information and feedback from owners.
I think the two reviews below should appeal to FF fans and new members. As a long time Top Gear fan I’m partial to their humorous take on car reviews but also appreciate the factual nature of the Consumer Reports video.

Consumer Reports Ford Fiesta Review:
Edmunds recently posted a comparison of the 2009 Honda Fit sport and 2009 Ford Fiesta titanium that included acceleration and handling performance tests. As in earlier reviews the Fiesta was judged the more rewarding car to drive while out right performance of each car is very similar.

The Fiesta (at least the European Version tested) had optional features like automatic rain sensing wipers, leather interior, smart key and navigation system that you would normally find in luxury cars not affordable hatchbacks.

Auto 123.com’s Justin Pritchard reviewed the 2009 Ford Fiesta for our Canadian friends north of the border.
Like most of the reviews for the new Fiesta Auto123 had good things to say about the Fiesta’s excellent handling, quality interior materials and upscale features like bluetooth and available push button start system.
While we don’t know the exact Fiesta configuration that will make its way the North America, Ford contends that our version will be 90% identical to the European version. Time will tell.

It was bound to happen, but I was a little surprised that Fiesta vs. X comparisons have started before the first US spec car has been reviewed. Our friends at Edmunds compared the new Ford Fiesta to the Honda Fit.

Fiesta vs. Fit
I think most comparisons of the Fiesta will end with similar conclusions: “The Fiesta isn’t nearly as practical as a Fit, but it’s certainly a more capable hauler than the compact sedans that budget-minded Americans have long preferred to hatchbacks. It’s also just a nicer car all-around than most of those dopey sedans. Other than the rear legroom issue, I can’t think of a single reason I’d tell someone to buy a Civic or Corolla instead of a Fiesta. (For that matter, I can’t think of a single reason I’d tell someone to buy a Corolla, period.) You’re right, that’s the way hatchbacks need to stage their comeback: by being appealing and entertaining cars that just happen to have a more useful cargo bay. From that perspective, the Fiesta’s fabulous.”

John Voelcker from Green Car Reports.com reviewed the New Fiesta after his April 2009 test drive in NYC. Overall he was impressed by the new mini Ford and amazed at how much better it is than some other US automaker’s recent attempts at producing a quality small car. Take a look at the review below.

For far too long, small cars were the homework US automakers didn’t want to do. Think back to the grim, joyless Chevrolet Chevette, or the first Ford Escort–and even today, the breathtakingly mediocre 2009 Dodge Caliber and its misbegotten half-brother, the 2009 Jeep Compass.

The black wheels and yellow mirrors may not be everyone’s cup of tea but some of these mods would be nice additions to personalize your Fiesta.

Zetec S Moutoune
Ford Fiesta Zetec-S Mountune (2009) CAR review
By Chris Chilton
23 March 2009
Ford’s brilliant new Fiesta only has one problem – the lack of an ST model. Actually the real problem is that there isn’t one coming – Ford canned it to concentrate on green cars like the Fiesta Econetic. I’m sure Ford has done its sums but given how many of the old-shape STs you see charging around Britain’s towns, it seems an odd, and certainly disappointing, decision.
But worry not, because now Mountune offers a Ford-approved tuning kit to turn the mild-but-fun Zetec S into an 18-year-old’s wet dream, complete with a drainpipe exhaust and other subtle tweaks. It’s a great car, but don’t leave home without your earplugs.
What’s this Mountune nonsense? Where’s the new ST? Read more…
You’ve seen various magazine reviews of the new Fiesta but take a look at what everyday readers of “What Car” have to say about the car!
While not as amusing as the TopGear review, enjoy the Fifth Gear take on the new Ford Fiesta.
